Major disruption to services in Gateshead and from Eldon Square
Eldon Square Bus Station will be closed while Newcastle City Council carry out essential resurfacing work, from 10 until 28 June.
During this period, most Go North East services that usually serve Eldon Square will arrive and depart from Newgate Street instead.
At the same time, from the evening of 21 June until early morning on 16 July, Five Bridges Roundabout will be fully closed while Gateshead Council work on the demolition of the flyover.
During this period many Go North East services in the Gateshead area will be rerouted, and delays are expected.

Buses on services 10 & X85 will be unable to serve bus stops at Dilston Cemetery and Bridge End from Monday 22nd June until Tuesday 22nd December. Buses will divert via the A695 and Station Road in both directions.
Roadworks affecting service 99

Due to roadworks on St Luke's Terrace service 99 is currently unable to serve St Luke's Terrace. Please catch your bus from Meldon Road or Pallion Road
Road closure at South Shore Road affecting services 53 & 54
Buses on services 53 & 54 are diverted due to emergency works connected to the Tyne Bridge refurbishment scheme. Service 53 will omit Hillgate, South Shore Road and Hawks Road and will operate directly from Swing Bridge to the Glasshouse. Service 54 will operate direct via Tyne Bridge omitting stops between Gateshead Askew Road and Newcastle City Centre.

Buses on service 6 will be unable to serve stops on Langley Lane or Greenwood Avenue from start of service on Monday 18th May for approximately 6 weeks. Buses will operate via Holmside Lane in both directions.

The bus stop at Barnes Park for services travelling away from Sunderland has been removed following an accident. Buses will serve the previous stop.
Stanley Bus Station Refurbishment

- Stanley Bus Station 'Stand K'
Between 7th April and the end of September 2026, Stanley Bus Station will be undergoing a major refurbishment. During this time, certain stands will be out of use and as such your bus may depart from a different stand from normal. Please refer to signage located within the station for more information.

Buses on service 688 will be unable to serve stops at Langley crossroads between 07:00-15:30 on Tuesday 23rd to Friday 26th June while Northumberland County Council carry out essential maintenance. The nearest stops are at Branchend.
Road closure at Low Brunton affecting service 682

Buses on service 682 will be diverted on weekdays from Friday 26th June until Tuesday 30th June between 08:00 & 17:00 while Northumberland County Council carry out essential maintenance between Low Brunton and Chollerford. Buses will be unable to serve stops at Chollerton, Barrasford, Gunnerton or Barrasford Park and will operate non stop from Low Brunton via the Military Road and A68.
Road closure at Boldon Lane affecting services 25 & 50
Buses on services 25 & 50 will be diverted from 23:00 on Saturday 27th June until 07:00 the following morning. Bus stops on Boldon Lane, Benton Road and Galsworthy Road will not be served, please catch your bus from New Road or Whiteleas Way.
